A pall of gloom descended on a north Kashmir’s village after body of a teenager was found dead in a forest area on Sunday.
The teen, Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, had gone to the nearby forest from his village Kawari in Lolab valley to collect firewood but was found dead under mysterious circumstances, officials said.
A police official said Bhat’s body was found by locals in the forest.
The locals immediately informed the police which rushed to the spot and recovered the body. After conducting all necessary formalities, the body was handed over to the relatives of the deceased for last rites, the official said.
He said that a case under section 174 CrPc has been registered and further investigations has been taken up.
Locals said Bhat’s body was partially eaten by wild animals.
