JKLF chief booked under PSA, to be shifted to Jammu jail

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief Muhammad has been booked under the Public Safety Act- a legislation described by the Amnesty International as a ‘lawless law’.

Malik, who has been in police custody since February 22, will be shifted to a Jammu jail, highly placed sources told Kashmir Dispatch.

“Today morning, Malik was informed that he has been booked under PSA and will be shifted to Kotbalwal jail,” a spokesman of the pro-independence group said.

JKLF strongly condemns this “arbitrary arrest” and use of PSA against a political leader, he said.

He termed it as a “glaring display of frustration” of Indian rulers and their abettors in Jammu and Kashmir.
