Army trooper joins militants in Kashmir

An army trooper has joined a militant group in Jammu and Kashmir, it has been learnt.

Sources say army trooper Mir Idrees Sultan has joined militant group Hizb ul Mujahideen.

Mir, who was part of army’s Bihar 12 JAKLI, is a resident of Safnag in south Kashmir’s Shupian.

Sources say that Mir returned to his home from Bihar on Thursday, last week.” On last Saturday, he told his family that he was returning to duty in Bihar,” sources add.

Mir didn’t respond to phone calls from the family on Sunday morning and by evening his phone was switched off, the sources say.

Mir’s photo holding a gun has gone viral on the internet.
