IAS officer says guilty of ‘seeing pro-rape rally and doing nothing’

A top government offical Friday said he was “guilty of doing nothing” despite witnessing how lawyers led by a woman waved Indian flags and played “patriotic songs” during their protest in favour of the accused in the Kathua minor’s rape and murder on April 11.

“Outside Jammu High Court, on Wednesday, 11th April, at 9 am, I saw a group of black coats led by a woman lawyer, sloganeering atop a load-carrier fitted with PAS. As they marched across the street, they waved tricolor and played patriotic songs like ‘dil diya hai jaan bhi denge, ai watan tere liye, and Sandese aate haen,” IAS officer Shah Faesal wrote on Facebook.

“I bear witness and plead guilty for seeing a pro-rape rally and doing nothing about it,” he wrote.
