Indian national investigation agency is conducting raids at several locations in Kashmir in connection with the ongoing probe into the funding of Pakistan-based groups in the valley.
Top sources told Kashmir Dispatch that Inspector General of the NIA arrived in the valley yesterday and multiple raids are underway in Srinagar, Baramulla and Handwara.
They said that the search at the residence of assistant director Industries, in Tahama area of Tangmarg, is also underway. The daughter of the assistant director is married to a person from Mazhama area of Magam, who works in Dubai and the couple is currently at their residence in Kashmir, sources said.
Sources told Kashmir Dispatch that the NIA landed at the brother-in-law, relatives and close aides of Zahoor Watili early this morning, who was raided earlier in July last month.
Ghulam Mohammad Rather, who is the driver of Zahoor Watili, was also raided at Machipora village in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, sources said adding that the son of the driver is pursuing MBBS at Rawalpindi medical college in Pakistan.
The raid was also underway in Aloochi Bagh area of Srinagar.
