Kashmir: Three insurgents of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind killed in Tral gunfight

 

Three local insurgents of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind outfit were killed in a brief gunfight at Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police sources said Wednesday.


Sources said the three insurgents were taking bath when they were zeroed in by government forces at Gulab Bagh village of Tral today afternoon.

 
The sources told Kashmir Dispatch that within zeroing in the insurgents, intense gunfire raged between the two sides. While two insurgents were killed near bathing spot, one managed to enter a house nearby. However he too was shot dead.

 

The three insurgents killed in the gunfight have been identified as Zahid Ahmad Bhat of Nowdal Tral, Muhammad Ishaq Bhat of Batagund Tral and Muhammad Ashraf Dar of Baghi Trich Pulwama.

While Zahid and Ishaq had joined insurgent ranks in year 2015, Ashraf took to the path of militancy in September month of 2016. Police sources said the slain were initially affiliated to Hizbul Mujahideen but then joined Ansar Ghazwatul Hind of Islamist Commander Zakir Musa.

 
The operation in Gulab Bagh is underway as two more insurgents are suspected to be trapped, police sources added.
