Police says carjacker gang busted in Kashmir’s Ganderbal, 2 arrested

Police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang of car lifters by arresting two people and recovering three cars, one motorcycle.

“Since last couple of weeks, Police station Khir-bawani Police was receiving a number of complaints of vehicular theft incidents. After registering the cases a plan was put into action and surveillance was increased in and around the Ganderbal town said Dysp Rameez Raja.

During the course of investigation by SHO Khir-bawani Mudasir Hussain Zaroo under the supervision of SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad Lone One suspect identified as Showkat Ahamd Bhat resident of Urpash Ganderbal was brought in police staion for questioning, official said.

During investigation he admitted that he along with other person namely Shabir Ahmad had stolen one bike and three Maruti 800 cars. Later vehicles were recovered from them and a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation taken up, the official said.
